ABOUT SURFERS PARADISE
Surfers Paradise surf stores, was founded in 1997 by former WQS pro surfer Mark Fessler who was attracted to the area by the good un- crowded surf and the relaxed friendly locals. Surfers Paradise has two well established branches in Scottburgh where you will find all you need for surf, skate, beach and fashion. Our stores successes lie in the founders passion for surfing and his dedication to promoting our sport in the local community. Managing partner Gareth Parsons has been at Mark’s side for over 20 years and together they are still actively involved in the running of local events, surf club and surf school. Surfers Paradise continues to invest in developing hot local talents with some big surfing names coming thru our ranks such as Gavin Roberts, Casey Grant, Brad Mommsen, Quinton Shabalala and Slade Prestwich to name a few. Mark was instrumental in creating the “O’neill Scottburgh Pro” which brought the best surfers in the country to compete on our perfect righthand point-break. We are working on bringing back this event in 2024 and making it a landmark event for Scottburgh. The locals and tourists return to our stores because we believe in service excellence and our slogan “Real Surf Stores” says it all. Scottburgh is famous for its quality waves and is a popular holiday destination for South Africans and international travelers, who are attracted to the mid south coast for its beauty, pristine beaches, sardine run, diving, famous golf resorts and the relaxed holiday atmosphere of the area.
